Carlson adds national team of the week honor
INDIANOLA, Iowa – In addition to American Rivers Conference Position Player of the Week honors, a big week across the board has landed Drew Carlson on the D3baseball.com Team of the Week.
Carlson put together one of the top all-around performances in the country, contributing both at the plate and on the mound during a 4-2 stretch. He collected 12 hits in 24 at-bats, including five doubles, while scoring 10 runs and driving in eight. Carlson reached base at a .567 clip and recorded his 100th career hit.
On the mound, Carlson earned the win in game two against Nebraska Wesleyan, allowing just one unearned run on one hit over 5.0 innings while striking out a career-high seven batters.
Simpson currently sits second in American Rivers Conference standings with a 9-4 league record. The Storm face Loras this weekend before returning home to close the series with Central next Tuesday.
