Kingrey plates four as Storm drop tight decision to Yellowjackets

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – Trenten Kingrey powered Simpson to an early four-run lead with a three-run homer and an RBI single, but Wis.-Superior rallied for a 5-4 win Saturday morning.

Kingrey put Simpson (5-4) on the board in the first inning with an RBI single that scored Dalton Ferrin, then extended the advantage in the third with a three-run home run to right field that plated Nate Cagley and Drew Carlson for a 4-0 lead.

The Yellowjackets (9-3) chipped away in the middle innings, scoring once in the fifth and once in the sixth before taking the lead with a three-run seventh inning that included two unearned runs.

Cagley led the Storm with three hits, reaching the 100 career hits milestone at Simpson.
