Simpson lands six on CSC Academic All-District list

INDIANOLA, Iowa – Six members of the Simpson College women's soccer team have been named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, a distinction reserved for student-athletes who demonstrate exceptional performance both in the classroom and on the field.

Avery Plathe earned the accolade for the third time, while Meredith Downs and Ally Hoffa secured their second. First-time selections include Mya Jansen, Georgia Paulson, and Elle Street.

To qualify, all nominees must be at least a sophomore in academic standing, have played in 90 percent of the team's games or started at least 66 percent, and have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher. The full team can be viewed by clicking here.

The 2025 CSC Academic All-America team will be announced on Dec. 17.

Meredith Downs

Avery Plathe

Major: Biochemistry
Season stats: 21 games started, 1420 minutes played, 10 shutouts, 1 assist

Elle Street
Senior defender from Ankeny, Iowa
Major: Elementary education
