Early goal ends Simpson's run in A-R-C Semifinal

DUBUQUE, Iowa – An early goal proved to be the difference as the Simpson College women's soccer team fell 1-0 to Loras in the American Rivers Conference Semifinals on Wednesday night.

The Duhawks (14-1-2) capitalized on a corner kick in the 11th minute that took a pair of deflections inside the box before Ivy Wessel pushed it across the line for the eventual gamewinner.

Seniors Elle Street and Brissa Valadez paced the Storm with two shots apiece as Simpson battled throughout but couldn't find the equalizer.

The Storm close the 2025 season with an 11-6-2 record, marking their fifth consecutive year with double-digit victories and seventh straight top-three finish in the conference standings. This was Simpson's fifth consecutive appearance in the semifinals.
