ST. PAUL, Minn. – Ally Hoffa delivered the late-game heroics as the Simpson women's soccer team earned a 1-0 road win over Macalester on Friday night.
Hoffa broke the deadlock in the 74th minute, slotting home the game's only goal after a defensive battle. The junior was active throughout, taking four of Simpson's six shots on the night.
On the defensive end, goalkeepers Meredith Downs and Amanda Pascale combined for the shutout, backed by strong performances from Elle Street, Zoe Cole, and Ali Vohsman, who each went the full 90 minutes. Downs and Pascale recorded a save apiece as the Storm (2-0-1) held the Scots (2-1) to just five shots overall.
