Three Storm capture titles at Loras Open

DUBUQUE, Iowa – Sophia Miller, Kendra Bliss, and Noa Arnold all went undefeated to lead the Simpson College women's wrestling team at the Loras Open on Saturday.

Simpson added depth across the lineup with three runner-up finishes and two additional top-five placers, rounding out a productive day on the mats in Dubuque.

Miller defeated Myra Bair of Wis.-Oshkosh twice to win the 110-pound title, while Bliss picked up a pair of quick pins in 0:38 and 0:22 before closing out the championship with a 5-2 decision over teammate Lily McMahon.

Arnold capped off her title run with a balanced performance that included two falls, a 10-0 technical fall, and a 4-1 decision over teammate Paige Gershmel in the championship bout. Sevanna Aguirre was the other runner-up finisher for the Storm, collecting a 10-0 technical fall and a pin in 4:16.

UP NEXT
Simpson competes at the Division III Invitational in Rock Island, Ill. on Feb. 7-8, the team's last outing before hosting the NCAA Region VII Championship two weeks later.
