Kehrli’s 5-0 weekend lands A-R-C weekly honor

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Junior Keeley Kehrli has been named the American Rivers Conference Women's Wrestler of the Week after a dominant 5-0 performance at the 8 Women Battle in Eau Claire.

No. 9 Kehrli was in complete control throughout the weekend, earning four technical falls and one first period pin on her way to the 160-pound title. Her run included a 1:09 fall over Augsburg's Sarah Mann and three shutout tech falls over Buena Vista's Destiny Kolheim (10-0), St. Benedict's Joel Makem (10-0), and Augustana's Maryan Ndiaye (12-0).

She capped her championship performance with a 12-2 victory over No. 10 Sophia Bassino (Northern Michigan) in the finals.

This marks Kehrli's first A-R-C weekly honor of the season and third of her career.

Simpson returns to competition on Dec. 6 at the Buena Vista Open.
