Four wrestlers go undefeated at 8 Women Battle

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – The Simpson College women's wrestling team turned in a strong showing at the 8 Women Battle on Saturday, claiming four individual titles and finishing the day with a 49-22 overall record.

Sophia Miller (110), No. 9 Layla Phillips (117), No. 9 Keeley Kehrli (160), and Nancy Bowman (160 Silver) each went unbeaten to secure championships for the Storm.

Kehrli dominated her bracket, rolling through her opening matches with two 10-0 technical falls and a 1:09 pin over Augsburg's Sarah Mann. She added a 12-0 semifinal tech fall and closed out the day with an impressive 12-2 win over No. 10 Sophia Bassino (Northern Michigan) in the finals.

Phillips strung together three consecutive pins to start her tournament and sealed a perfect 4–0 day with a 6-2 decision against Indian Hills' Abigail Rivero. Miller's title run featured two quick 10-0 tech falls, while Bowman powered her way to the 160 Silver crown with five pins in five matches.

At 145, No. 9 Annelise Obermark earned runner-up honors after a 4-1 performance, her only loss coming to No. 6 Alissa Caltagirone (Northern Michigan) in a top-10 semifinal matchup. Sevanna Aguirre and Autumn Calvert also notched top-three finishes to round out Simpson's strong day in Wisconsin.
