Ashlyn Steen honored as A-R-C Player of the Week
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The two-time NCAA All-American was nearly unstoppable at the plate as Ashlyn Steen added A-R-C Player of the Week honors to her trophy case on Monday.
On the week, Simpson went 5-1 in large part due to Steen production in the lead-off spot. The senior went 10-for-14 (.714 avg) with one home run, six RBIs, 13 runs scored and seven stolen bases. She finished with two-more hits in four of the six games, and scored two or more runs in five games.
Steen currently leads the conference in batting average (.541), on-base (.617), slugging (.918), runs scored (51), hits (53), triples (8), and stolen bases (33).
Steen is the latest Storm player to earn conference recognition this season, joining two-time A-R-C Pitcher of the Week Marina Cronin and Player of the Week Caelynn Obleton.
