Storm Softball ranked 13th in latest NFCA National Coaches Poll

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - After going 9-2 in Florida at the Spring Games, and improving to 15-2 on the year, the Simpson softball team ranked 13th in the latest NFCA/GoRout Top 25 Coaches Poll on Tuesday.

Over the 11 games, Simpson picked up nine wins including results over 2025 NCAA Regional teams like Western New England, Ithaca, Springfield, and Farmingdale State.

Leading the Storm over the break was A-R-C Pitcher of the Week Marina Cronin, who tossed 29 innings, allowing three earned runs and 28 strikeouts. All-American Ashlyn Steen proved to be nearly impossible to stop in the batter's box, collecting 24 hits and 17 stolen bases and now has hit safely in her last 16 games. Outfielder Katie Shaner delivered in the clutch for the Storm, hitting a game-tying home run in the seventh to force extras against Macalester while also driving in 12 RBIs over the 11 games.

Simpson returns to action this Thursday, hosting Cornell for a doubleheader at 3 p.m.

Simpson athletes visit Lasik Iowa and Lasik Omaha doctors for annual checkups.
