Storm land five on all-conference list
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Senior Maddax DeVault and sophomore Ella Anderson headlined five Simpson women's basketball players recognized by the American Rivers Conference with all-conference honors.
DeVault earned first team distinction after finishing second in the league in scoring and leading the conference at the free throw line, while Anderson secured second team recognition behind one of the A-R-C's most efficient shooting seasons. Taylor Hansen, Keira McCormick and Elle Street each added honorable mention accolades to round out the Storm's postseason honors.
Simpson concluded the year 13-13 and 9-7 in conference play, finishing top four in the standings for the eighth straight season. The Storm ranked second in the A-R-C in scoring offense (68.5 ppg) and field goal percentage (43.6), and first in steals per game (11.19), assists per game (15.88), and overall turnover margin (3.46).
Simpson's five all-conference selections are the most for the program since the 2021-22 season when six players were honored. Street earns her second straight honorable mention nod, while DeVault, Anderson, Hansen, and McCormick secure their first league honors.
Maddax DeVault, First Team
Senior guard from Greenfield, Iowa
- Ranked second in the league in overall scoring, averaging 17.3 points per game
- Led the league with an 88.2 percent free throw percentage
- Tied for third in the conference with 2.1 steals per game
- Ranked sixth in assists per game (2.9) and fifth in 3-pointers made per game (1.9)
- Scored in double figures in all but three games, topping 20 points nine times
Ella Anderson, Second Team
Sophomore forward from Olathe, Kan.
- Shot 61.7 percent from the floor, second-best in the conference
- Converted 67 of 106 shots in league play (63.2)
- Ranked seventh in rebounding at 6.7 boards per game
- Scored in double figures 12 times and recorded five double-digit rebounding performances
- Posted three double-doubles
Taylor Hansen, Honorable Mention
Sophomore guard from Omaha, Neb.
- Registered the fourth-best free throw efficiency in the league (84.9)
- Finished top 10 in 3-point percentage, going 33-for-92 from beyond the arc
- Scored in double figures 16 times, including a season-high 21 against Wis.-Eau Claire on Nov. 22
- Finished just outside the top-15 in the conference in overall points per game (10.5)
Keira McCormick, Honorable Mention
Freshman center from Harpers Ferry, Iowa
- Ranked fourth in the league in overall blocks, averaging 1.4 per game
- Shot 47.4 percent from the field in league action, ranking 10th
- Recorded seven blocks against Luther, the highest single game total by any A-R-C player this season
- Scored in double figures nine times, including a season-high 23 against Neb. Wesleyan on Feb. 4
Elle Street, Honorable Mention
Senior guard from Ankeny, Iowa
- Averaged 2.9 assists per game to rank sixth in the league
- Recorded the fifth-best assist-to-turnover ratio in the A-R-C (1.4)
- Registered 2.0 steals per game to rank fifth in the conference
- Tallied eight steals against Lake Forest, the highest single game total by any A-R-C player this season
- Scored in double figures four times and had 15 games with at least three assists
