NORTHFIELD, Minn. - The Simpson men's soccer team suffered its first defeat in 2025, falling on the road to Carleton 3-1 on Monday afternoon.
Two quick goals by Carleton (2-0-0) in the opening 15 minutes, followed by a second half goal propelled Knights to the victory. Sal Fratianni got the Storm (0-1-2) on the board in the 88th minute, after a foul set up a penalty kick opportunity for Simpson. Fratianni connected on the attempt for his first goal of the season, and first in his career.
Nate Hersom got the start in goal for the Storm, collecting five saves on 16 shots before Mason Chaplin finished the final 13 minutes. As a team, Simpson finished with four shots overall and two on frame, one by Zach Kline and one from Fratianni.
