Simpson tallies three champions, 11 all-conference honors
DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Simpson College women's wrestling team generated 11 all-conference awards and three championship medals at the first-ever American Rivers Conference Championship.
Sarah Zimmerman (110), Annelise Obermark (145) and Keeley Kehrli (160) were all crowned conference champions, combining for nine of Simpson's 30 wins. The Storm additionally had six runner-up and two third place finishes.
No. 21 Simpson (123.0) finished second in the team race behind No. 10 Wartburg (151.5).
PATH TO A-R-C TITLE
- Sarah Zimmerman defeated Harley Tobin of Buena Vista twice to secure first at 110 pounds. She recorded a 10-0 technical fall as well as a pin in 1:16.
- Annelise Obermark rattled off three 10-0 technical falls before earning a forfeit in her final match of the day. She defeated AvaBlue McDermott of Loras, Madilyn Rowson of Central, and teammate Noa Arnold.
- Keeley Kehrli started her day with a forfeit before picking up two technical falls, an 11-0 win over Alex Harswick of Wartburg and 12-0 victory over Dubuque's Alexandra Hofrichter, who came into the day ranked No. 9 by the NWCA.
