Four pins power No. 20 Simpson to second shutout of the season
MOUNT VERNON, Iowa – The Simpson College women's wrestling team delivered another dominant performance, shutting out Cornell 49-0 for their second dual shutout of the season.
The 20th-ranked Storm capitalized on a combination of forfeits, four commanding pins, and a technical fall to notch their eighth win of the season, boosting their record to 8-3.
Simpson's win was highlighted by quick pins from Ashley Cannon, Paige Gershmel, Keeley Kehrli, and Kassidee Savaria, while Ella Weber earned a 10-0 technical fall in her first varsity dual action of the year.
UP NEXT
The Storm return to Mount Vernon on Jan. 18 for the Cliff Keen-Mike Duroe Invitational. One week later, Simpson heads to the American Rivers Conference Championship at Loras.
