Women’s wrestling claims three wins at Lindenwood Duals

ST. CHARLES, Mo. – The Simpson College women's wrestling team picked up their first three dual victories of the season on Sunday at the Lindenwood Duals.

The Storm (3-2) took down Eureka 52-7 to open the day, winning the last nine matches of the dual for the lopsided victory. Layla Phillips, Paige Gershmel, Keeley Kehrli and Kassidee Savaria all earned pins.

Simpson then dropped a close battle to Lindenwood 29-24. Three straight wins from Gershmel, Annelise Obermark and Kehrli put the Storm ahead 24-17, but the Tigers won the final two matches via fall for the walkoff win.

Winning six of 10 matches, Simpson defeated Missouri Valley 32-22 in the third dual of the day. The Storm fell 38-19 to McKendree before handling business against Quincy, 48-10.

Miliyah Pacheco, Ashley Cannon, Obermark, Kehrli and Savaria all picked up four wins to lead the team.
