Storm open new year with 34-16 victory
INDIANOLA, Iowa – Behind key victories from Nicholas Silva and Trey Kellow, the Simpson College men's wrestling team opened the new year with a 34-16 victory over Saint John's.
Silva delivered one of the Storm's biggest swings of the night at 141 pounds, pinning Alfredo Hernandez in 3:56, while Kellow capped Simpson's scoring with an 11-2 major decision at 165 pounds.
Simpson also picked up wins from Mazin Arafa by injury default at 174, Easton Biladeau with an 11-4 decision at 149, and Noel Torres in a 5-3 decision at 157. The Storm benefited from forfeits at 125 (Brody Hufford) and 133 (Zaydin Sanchez) as well.
