Storm come up short against Benedictine

INDIANOLA, Iowa – Nicholas Silva and Noel Torres supplied bonus-point wins but the Simpson College men's wrestling team came up short in a 27-17 nonconference loss to Benedictine.

Silva opened the scoring for Simpson (0-3) at 133 pounds with a dominant 15-0 technical fall over J'Lee Collins. Torres followed later in the lineup with one of the Storm's biggest moments of the night, pinning Cristian Ramos in 2:29 at 157 pounds.

Trey Kellow added another strong performance with an 18-13 decision at 165 pounds, while heavyweight Trace Goemaat closed the dual with a 3-2 win over Mason Harris.

Benedictine (4-0) claimed six matches overall, earning bonus points at 125, 141, 174, and 184 pounds to secure the dual victory.
