Rollison, Jones claim event titles as Simpson celebrates inaugural team members
INDIANOLA, Iowa – Brian Rollison and Braxton Jones were each crowned event champions as the Simpson men's gymnastics team placed second in a tri-meet with Nebraska and Greenville on Saturday.
Rollison claimed first place on still rings with a 13.400, while Jones won vault with a season-high 14.400. Their performances powered Simpson to a team score of 300.000 and helped secure second-place finishes on floor, pommel horse, rings, and vault.
Nebraska won the meet with a 319.000, while Greenville finished with a 295.700.
Simpson honored its inaugural senior class at the conclusion of the meet, recognizing Alex Catchpole, Christopher Duane, Connor Jenkins, Sterling Pariza, Ethan Sipos, Milo Staley, and Jake Sweeten for four years of dedication to the program.
OTHER HIGHLIGHTS
- Milo Staley tied for third on vault (14.200) and placed fifth on pommel horse (12.600).
- Noah Doiron took second in the all-around (73.150).
- Alex Campbell placed fourth on rings (13.000).
