Storm earn three individual titles at Greenville tri-meet
GREENVILLE, Ill. – The Simpson College men's gymnastics team earned three individual titles Saturday, as Braxton Jones, Paul Tiedemann, and Noah Doiron each claimed event victories in a tri-meet against Greenville and California.
Jones won the vault with a score of 14.450, tying his career high and matching the Simpson program record. Tiedemann garnered a first place finish on high bar, posting a career-best 13.400, the highest high bar score ever recorded by a Simpson gymnast. Doiron rounded out the titles by capturing the all-around crown with a score of 68.950.
Garrett Alexander and Jake Smith led the way on floor with matching scores of 12.500, while William Bacus posted a career-high 12.950 on pommel horse to pace the Storm. Brian Rollison recorded the team's top score on still rings with a 12.600, and Tristan Shorey added a career-best 12.300 on parallel bars.
The Storm totaled a team score of 290.650 to finish third overall. Greenville edged California for the team title, scoring 306.650 to Cal's 306.600.
UP NEXT
The Storm head to Lincoln, Neb. for a quadrangular next Saturday at 2 p.m. against Nebraska, Greenville, and Wililam & Mary.
