Senior duo earns All-Tournament recognition
RIVER FALLS, Wis. – Simpson volleyball seniors Peyton Mitchell and Morgan DenBeste were named to the Wis.-River Falls Falcon Invitational All-Tournament Team following a weekend in which the Storm went 3-1, defeating Carleton, (RV) North Park, and Bethel.
Mitchell and DenBeste were at the heart of Simpson's success, combining for 89 of the team's 189 kills and accounting for half of the Storm's 40 service aces. Mitchell was a force at the net with 16 total blocks, while DenBeste led the team with 81 assists and bolstered the backline with 30 digs. Their production helped Simpson reach 6-1 overall, the program's best start since 2013.
- Dominated at the net, totaling 16 blocks across the tournament
- Finished the weekend with 38 kills, 12 aces, and a .329 hitting efficiency
- Posted 28 kills (.460) and 11 blocks on Saturday alone
- Set career highs in kills (16), aces (5) and solo blocks (4) over the weekend
- Contributed across the stat sheet with 81 assists, 34 kills, 30 digs, and eight aces
- Recorded a triple-double (10 kills, 19 assists, 10 digs) against UW-River Falls and came within one dig of a second against Carleton
- Led the Storm in assists, ranked second in aces, and third in digs
- Registered a career-high 11 kills against Carleton
