Record-setting night leads to conference honors for Resnick, Tally
MADISON, Wis. – Following a historic performance at the SEMO Quadrangular, the Simpson College women's gymnastics program swept the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference weekly gymnastics awards, with Evalyn Resnick earning Specialist of the Week and Kaelyn Tally named Multi-Event Gymnast of the Week.
Resnick claimed the specialist honor after shattering the Simpson program record on bars with a 9.800, helping lead the Storm to a school-record 47.300 on the apparatus and an all-time high team score of 190.625. Her routine tied for second place overall and capped a record-breaking night for the Simpson lineup.
Tally earned multi-event gymnast of the week recognition following standout performances on vault and floor. She tied for second place on vault with a 9.725 and led the Storm on floor with a 9.775, playing a key role in Simpson setting a school record on the event and posting the highest team score in program history.
This is Tally's second time earning a WIAC weekly award following her recognition as specialist of the week last February. Resnick collects her first career weekly honor.
The Storm look to carry their momentum into their final home competition of the year this Sunday against Wis.-Eau Claire.
