Barton, Resnick lead Simpson against defending national champion

INDIANOLA, Iowa – Emmie Barton and Evalyn Resnick each earned top-three scores to lead the Simpson College women's gymnastics team in a dual against last year's national champion, Wis.-La Crosse.

Barton tied for second on vault with a 9.650 and added a career-high 9.625 on beam, helping the Storm post their second-highest team beam score ever (48.025). Resnick tied for third on beam with a 9.675 and also led Simpson on bars, recording a 9.575, the highest bars score for a Storm gymnast this season.

Kaelyn Tally continued her consistency on floor, scoring a 9.600 to narrowly miss the podium. Rachel Welch set a new personal best on beam (9.600) and tied her career high on vault (9.525).

Simpson ended the meet with a 188.150, while the Eagles posted a season-best 193.150.
