Storm score big in Fiterman Training Center debut

INDIANOLA, Iowa – The Simpson College women's gymnastics team turned in a historic performance in its first meet in the new Fiterman Training Center, posting one of the top team scores in program history behind standout efforts from Kaelyn Tally, Evalyn Resnick and Olivia Hedary.

Tally collected the 12th vault title of her career and tied for second on floor, Resnick earned a second-straight title on beam, and Hedary won the crown in the all-around for the third time in her career.

Simpson finished with a 188.875, the second-highest team score in program history. Wis.-Whitewater posted a 191.275 to win the team crown.

ROTATION SUMMARIES

VAULT - The Storm opened the meet with a 47.950, tying the third-highest team score ever. Kaelyn Tally won the event with a 9.725, while Emmie Barton added a career-high 9.700 for second.
BARS - Simpson totaled 45.650 and was led by Evalyn Resnick's 9.500 that tied for third. Liz Sisler was second for the Storm with a 9.250, while Emma Charles matched a career high with a 9.225.
BEAM - Simpson compiled a 46.925, fueled by Resnick's first-place finish and 9.700. Rachel Welch followed with a career-best 9.575, while Barton was close behind with a 9.525.
FLOOR - The Storm closed the meet with a 48.350 on floor, the second-highest team floor score ever. Tally posted a career-high 9.775, while Barton, Hedary and Kaley Bristow each added career-high routines as well.
