Baseball wraps up 2025 season in A-R-C Tournament

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Simpson College baseball team saw its 2025 season come to a close on the opening day of the American Rivers Conference Tournament.

Fifth-seeded Simpson (17-23) kicked off postseason play with an 8-2 loss to No. 4 seed Wartburg (21-18). The Knights jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first inning and doubled it with two more runs in the fifth. The Storm showed signs of life with a pair of runs in the seventh, but Wartburg shut the door with four more runs across the next two innings.

Simpson then shifted sites to take on No. 6 seed Nebraska Wesleyan (22-20) in an elimination game. After falling behind 2-0 early, the Storm responded with two runs in the third to tie things up. The Prairie Wolves pulled away with a six-run outburst a few innings later, and Simpson fell 10-2.
