Storm rebound with dominant game two win over St. Scholastica

SAINT PETER, Minn. – The Simpson College baseball team bounced back in a big way after a tough 10-0 loss in the season opener, erupting for a 16-5 victory over St. Scholastica to secure its first win of 2025.

Both Ian Baldwin and Drew Carlson had three RBI in the game two victory as Simpson (1-1) pounded out 13 hits. Carlson accounted for a team-high four hits, while Baldwin went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two walks.

Easton Dunwoody secured his first win of the year on the mound, giving up just one run on five hits in four innings of work.

GAME ONE SUMMARY

  • St. Scholastica (1-1) came out swinging in the opener, plating six runs on seven hits in the first inning to put the Storm in an early hole.
  • The Saints tacked on two unearned runs in the fourth before Adam Braun drove in two more across the fifth and seventh innings to complete the 10-0 shutout.

  • Carlson struck in the sixth with a two-run double, and Bryson Gibson capped the scoring with an RBI single after a passed ball.
  • On the mound, Easton Dunwoody (1-0) delivered a strong performance, allowing just one run on five hits over four innings to earn the win. Eli Feekin and Andrew Weig combined for the final three frames to seal the victory.
