Storm shine at last chance meets with record-chasing relay performance
WAVERLY, Iowa - Competing at three separate last chance meets, Simpson men's track and field captured one top-ten mark in school history, along with multiple top-three finishes, on Friday.
MEET HIGHLIGHTS
- The 4x400 relay team of Jrakke Johnson, Adonis McKenzie, Joseph Sams, and Rouce Sayee nearly broke a 46-year old school record, setting the second fastest time at 3:13.17 minutes, only 0.5 seconds off the record.
- Kendrick Achebe tied his season-best in the 100m dash, placing third overall in the event with a time of 10.57 seconds in the finals.
- Jeret Petersen placed third overall in the decathlon, earning the sixth best score in Simpson history with a total of 6481 points. Petersen scored best in the 110m hurdles, along with strong showings in the 100m and high jump.
