Simpson highlights the Kip Janvrin Open with stellar performances
INDIANOLA, Iowa - James Johnson set the second fastest time in the 1500, while Kendrick Achebe top home the title in the 100m dash as Simpson hosted the Kip Janvrin Open on Friday.
MEET HIGHLIGHTS
- James Johnson became only the second runner in school history to go sub-3:50 in the 1500m, finishing with a time of 3:49.89 and currently sits 17th in the NCAA Division-III.
- Kendrick Achebe claimed the 100m dash crown, winning the event with a time of 10.57 seconds by nearly 0.1 of a second out of 44 runners.
- Over at the Drake Relays, the 4x400 relay team earned the seventh fastest time in school history with a mark of 3:14.92.
