Wahman and Legg lead Storm in final tune-up before conference championships

ROCKFORD, Ill. - Jack Wahman's consistent play, along with Avin Legg's 76 in round two lifted Simpson to a sixth place finish at the Highland Spring Invite on Monday.

Wahman started off strong for the Storm, shooting an even par with two birdies on the front nine of his opening round before finishing at 79. In the second leg of the day, Wahman dropped one stroke off his game, finishing at 157 total and placing 19th overall in the field.

Avin Legg rebounded after an 82 to begin the day, shooting the lowest round score of any Simpson golfer with a 76 in round two. Legg played even par golf for the first 13 holes in the second round.

Jackson Tennis played a consistent 79 on both ends of the day and finished tied with Legg for 24th overall at 158. Blake Perrin and Bradley Kofoed rounded out the scorecard with scores of 159 and 160 respectively.

As a team, Simpson just placed outside the top-five on the leaderboard at 630 out of 13 teams, dropping six strokes off the total score from round one to round two.

UP NEXT

Simpson returns home to host the A-R-C Championships at the Glen Oaks Country Club in West Des Moines. The three-day tournament starts on Sunday, April 26 with one round each day.
