Simpson men's golf opens up the spring season with a top-five finish
MARYVILLE, Mo. - Blake Perrin carded a top-10 finish as Simpson teed off the spring season at the Graceland Spring Invitational with a fifth place as a team.
Perrin shot a 79 in the opening round, highlighted by an eagle on the par-5 six hole, before shooting a team-low 77 in the second round. Perrin placed seventh overall in a field of 61 golfers.
Jackson Tennis posted an 83 in the first round then dropped the second-lowest score on the team with a 78 in the second round. Bradley Kofoed saw the largest improvement from the first to the second round, going from an 86 to 79 and tying for 27th overall.
Jack Wahman tied with Kofoed with a total score of 165 while Johnathon Terpstra closed out the scorecard for Simpson with a 172 total score.
As a team, Simpson placed fifth overall in a field of 10 teams, moving up two spots from round one to round two, and picking up wins over Buena Vista, Waldorf, and Graceland.
