Simpson men's golf tabbed fifth in A-R-C Preseason Poll
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – With a strong start to the fall season, the Simpson men's golf team ranked fifth in the American Rivers Preseason Coaches Poll on Thursday.
Reigning champion Dubuque took home the top with eight of the nine first place votes. Nebraska Wesleyan earned one first place en route to a second place ranking followed by Central, Luther and Simpson in the three, four, and five slots. Rounding out the poll was Coe, Wartburg, Buena Vista, and Loras.
Simpson begins the spring season with a two-day tournament at the Graceland Spring Invitational on Friday, March 27. The Storm will play in five spring tournaments including the Storm Spring Classic on Wednesday, April 15 at the Indianola golf course. The season caps off with the three-day A-R-C Championships starting on Sunday, April 26 at Glen Oaks in West Des Moines.
2025 IN REVIEW
- Simpson finished in fifth at the 2025 A-R-C Championships with a total score of 934, 31 strokes off of the leader Dubuque at 903.
- Jackson Tennis led the team with a 10th place finish, with Blake Perrin just behind him tied for 11th out of 43 golfers. With his 10th place finish, Jackson Tennis earned A-R-C All-Conference honors.
- In the fall of 2025, Simpson was led by Perrin and Tennis again where Simpson as a team finished second at the Wartburg Fall Invite and the Simpson Fall Invite.
- Out of the six fall tournaments, Simpson finished in fifth or higher in five tournaments.
