Simpson track & field competes at last chance meet

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Kinsey Bak won the high jump and reset the school record in the triple jump, leading the Simpson track and field teams at the North Central Final Qualifier Track & Field Meet on Friday night.

Bak clared 5-5 ¼ on the high jump, tying for first with Washington of St. Louis’ Jasmine Williams. The senior fell short of her previous season best of 5-6, which has her in a tie for seventh in the nation.

Bak finished eighth in the triple jump, setting a Simpson indoor record with a leap of 36-5.

Matt Stone participated in the 800 meters, placing 16th (1:58.37). He was off his season-best pace of 1:56.35.

Bayley Fleshner took part in the 60-meter hurdles, finishing just short of qualifying for finals in ninth place (9.37).

Friday was the final meet for before the NCAA Division III National Championship, which takes place March 9-10 at Grinnell College. Follow simpsonathletics.com to see who will be competing.
