Trio of record book performances highlight Storm's first 2025 meet
WAVERLY, Iowa - Three Storm carved their names in the history books as the Simpson women's track and field team began the 2025 year at the Chelsey Henkenius Invitational on Saturday.
MEET HIGHLIGHTS
- Jenna Thornburg eclipsed her own record by 0.01 of a second in the 60m dash with a time of 8.09 seconds in prelims before taking first overall in the event.
- Ava Carder finished second overall in the 600m with a time of 1:43.44 minutes, which placed her 10th in school history in the event.
- Olivia Merrill's 12.09m mark in the shot put was ninth best in school history, and placed her third overall.
