Women's Tennis wraps up the fall season with strong performances at the A-R-C Tournament

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Coilee Hynek and Savana Walls as individuals reached the quarterfinals of the A-R-C Tournament, highlighting Simpson's six wins over the weekend.

Beginning in flight C, Hynek advanced on an opening bye with Grace Peck and Walls advancing on wins of their own. Peck battled after dropping the opening set, rallying back and taking the tiebreaker, while Walls rolled past her matchup. Hynek and Walls continued with wins in the next round, Hynek winning in the tiebreaker, while Walls blanked her opponent in the second set.

As the two reached the quarterfinals, their run in the highly competitive tournament field came to close.

Gracie Thompson was seeded with a bye in the opening round in flight D, before falling in the round of 16 against her matchup from Nebraska Wesleyan. In flight E, Kayla Truitt earned the win over her opponent from Buena Vista, then fell in the round of 16 as well.

In the doubles action, The pairing of Thompson and Natalie Collins picked up the lone win for the Storm, defeating her counterparts from Dubuque in a dramatic 7-6 result. The pair reached the quarterfinals of the tournament before their run came to a close.
