Vikings sneak past Storm in Black Box
INDIANOLA, Iowa – The Simpson College men's wrestling team won five of eight contested matches, but Augustana snuck away with a 26-18 win inside Black Box on Thursday night.
The Vikings (3-2) were aided by two forfeits and picked up a couple of bonus-point victories with technical falls as 157 and 174 pounds. The lone bonus-point victory for Simpson (0-4) was a pin by Caden Elliott (184) in 50 seconds.
Jonathan Valdez (133), Ethan Riesselman (141), Easton Biladeau (149), and Mazin Arafa (165) all went the distance in their matches, picking up key decisions to keep the Storm in the match.
