Valdez claims third place at Coe Invitational
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Jonathan Valdez claimed third place at 133 pounds to lead the Simpson College men's wrestling team at the Coe Invitational on Saturday.
Valdez defeated Payton Harger (Graceland) 3-2 in the quarterfinals but lost 16-0 to Coe's Bryce Parke to fall to the back side of the bracket. He rebounded with a pin over Parke's teammate Lane German and beat another Kohawk in the third-place match 6-5.
Easton Biladeau also posted three wins on his way to fifth place, while Isaiah Burney and Troy Galloway were each 3-2 to claim seventh.

Simpson has Thanksgiving week off and will return to action at home against Augustana on Dec. 5 at 8 p.m.
