Storm launch 2024 season with Luther Hill Invite
INDIANOLA, Iowa – Led by Troy Galloway's runner-up finish, the Simpson College men's wrestling team kickstarted the 2024 season by hosting their own Luther Hill Invitational.
Galloway was one of three Storm wrestlers competing in the open division and picked up two victories before withdrawing from the championship match due to a medical forfeit. He pinned unattached wrestler Simon Peterman before edging Central's Hayden Hearne 2-1 in the semifinals.
Freshman Jonathan Valdez led Simpson with three wins on the day, earning a couple of decisions around a 15-2 major decision over J'Lee Collins of Benedictine. His decisions came against wrestlers from Central and North Iowa Area Community College.
Connor Jackson, Ethan Riesselman, Easton Biladeau and Jonathan Casaus all picked up one victory in their season debuts.

Simpson remains in Indianola to open its dual season and American Rivers Conference action on Thursday night against Dubuque. The dual is set to begin at 7 p.m. inside Hopper Gymnasium.
