Storm fall to Dubuque and Loras to finish their season

DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Storm finished their season in Dubuque this weekend with a pair of conference competitions against Dubuque and Loras. The Storm fell to Dubuque in a 6-1 loss and fell to Loras 7-0.

In singles competition against Dubuque, Drake Downard picked up the only victory for the Storm in 6-3, 6-3 fashion. Grant Love played an extremely close match, eventually losing to his opponent in extra points 7-5, 6-7 (3-7), 10-5. Blane Wallace also pushed his match into extra points, falling 7-5, 6-3.

In doubles competition against Dubuque, Drake Downard/Blane Wallace played a tight match, eventually falling to Dubuque 7-5. Javier Robles Solis/Grant Love lost 6-1, while Seth Orta/Darek Kayser lost 6-2.

In singles competition versus the Duhawks of Loras, Javier Robles Solis played the closest match of the day, pushing the match into overtime. Javier Robles Solis eventually fell 7-5, 6-3. Grant Love and Seth Orta each fell in 6-4, 6-1 matches, putting forward a tough effort against the Duhawks.

In doubles competition against Loras, Javier Robles Solis/Grant Love competed tightly with their opponents, finishing with a 6-4 loss. Drake Downard/Blane Wallace fell 6-3, and Seth Orta/Darek Kayser lost 6-1 against the Duhawks.

This weekend's matches finish the season for the Storm. The team will graduate one senior, Drake Downard, before heading into their fall season.
