Simpson men's swim opens up new year at Grinnell Invite
GRINNELL, Iowa — Colby Briggs and Ky Frederick highlighted Simpson's opening performance of 2026 at the Grinnell Invite with top-ten performances in school history.
In the 1650 free, Briggs placed 10th overall but second in program history with his time of 17:42.48 minutes. Frederick also etched his name in the record books, placing eighth best in school history in the 100 breaststroke at 1:07.28 minutes.
The meet marked the first of the year for the Storm, where Simpson placed eighth out of nine teams in the field.
