Storm take home third place finish at BHC Fyre Lake Invite

SHERRAD, Ill. - Strong consistent play from Blake Perrin and Jack Wahman's 72 in the opening round led Simpson men's golf to a third place finish at the BHC Fyre Lake Fall Invitational on Friday.

Perrin (75-76-151) finished with six total birdies, and finished with another top-5 performance, earning a tie for third place with six other golfers. Wahman (72-82-154) put together the best round of any golfer in the field, shooting a 72 in the opening round, highlighted by 14 pars and a birdie. The Storm as a squad took home third place, their second straight tournament with a top-3 finish.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Perrin carded three birdies in both rounds, while moving up the leaderboard five spots on the final day to capture his third place finish with a total score of 151.
• After Wahman's two-over par hot start to the tournament, the junior finished up with an 82 for a total score 154 and a share of 12th place.
• Max Trembly joined Wahman for a share of 12th place as the senior earned four birdies and a final line of 75-79-154.
• Jackson Tennis (82-80-162) and Bradley Kofoed (86-84-170) rounded out the scorecard for the Storm, earning 32nd and 50th place respectively, and combining for four birdies total.
• Playing as an individual, Jade Spangler placed 69th overall with his score of 88-91-179.
