WHITEWATER, Wis. - Levi Gurwell and Cam Henderson continued their hot start to the season, scoring 18 and 19 respectively in the Storm's road loss to UW-Whitewater on Tuesday night.
The pair of guards combined for 37 of Simpson's (2-5) 78 points on 12-for-20 shooting and five 3-pointers. Gurwell reached the 18-point mark in his third straight game, while Henderson has now scored in double-digits in all seven games to start the 2025-26 season.
Over the game, Simpson shot 26-for-59 (44.1 percent) from the field, connected on 10 3-pointers, and finished with 13 assists, three steals, and two blocks.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The game began with back-and-forth action as Henderson scored the opening 11 points for the Storm highlighted by two 3-pointers.
- Simpson and UW-Whitewater continued to trade baskets as the score was tied up 26-to-26 after a Seth Gipple 3-pointer at the 9:02 mark.
- UW-Whitewater used a 23-8 run over the final nine minutes of the half to break open a 15-point lead heading into halftime.
- The momentum continued for the Warhawks in the second half and despite the Storm going on separate runs of 10-2 and closing the game out on an 11-0 run, UW-Whitewater secured the 100-78 win.
