Storm women show improvement at LaCrosse

LACROSSE, Wis. - The Simpson women ran to a 19th-place finish Saturday at the highly competitive Drews/Neubauer Invitational, hosted by UW-LaCrosse.

Jade Osborne finished as Simpson's top runner for the fourth time in as many races, running the 6-kilometer course in 24:81, good for 78th.  The Storm's second finisher, Courtney Licht was 120th (25:28).

Lindsey Borgomainerio stepped up in big fashion for the Storm, running a 25:47 (126th).

"We had some illness this week, and Lindsey stepped up and ran a life-time best race today when we needed her the most," head coach Heath Moenck said.

Signe Mayland ran 26:05 (134th), Maddy McAreavy ran 26:25 (140th), and Lauren Doocy ran 26:36 (143rd). Shelby King rounded out Simpson's top seven, running 26:47 (145th)

"It's great to see our squad running at its best in the important part of the season," Moenck said. "It's fun watching this team compete; it's anybody's guess to see who will finish in any given position."

The Storm are off next week before traveling to the Iowa Conference Championship on Saturday, Oct. 29, in Decorah.

Simpson athletes visit Lasik Iowa and Lasik Omaha doctors for annual checkups.
