Storm fall to Coe in A-R-C play
INDIANOLA, Iowa - Coe capitalized on early momentum and a strong first half to hand the Simpson College football team a 34-7 setback Saturday afternoon at Buxton Stadium.
The Kohawks (4-2, 3-1 A-R-C) struck early and often, scoring on four of their first six possessions to build a 28-0 halftime lead. Running back Quincy Drummer opened the scoring with touchdown runs of 33 and seven yards, while quarterback Brady Kelley connected with Latrell Taylor for passing scores of 67 and 21 yards.
The Kohawks added to their advantage on the opening drive of the second half, as Drummer found the end zone for the third time to make it 34-0.
Simpson's defense came up with several key stops in the second half, including a strip sack by senior CJ Hangartner that was recovered by Antonio Toston at the Simpson 20-yard line. After a pair of long completions to Noah Cracraft, Demarico Young capped the possession with a one-yard rushing score to put Simpson (2-3, 1-2 A-R-C) on the board.
