Schmidt receives all-tournament honors after outstanding weekend performance

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – After a strong weekend performance, Jada Schmidt was named to the Illinois Wesleyan All-Tournament Team. Schmidt played and started in all three matches this weekend against Millikin, Ill. Wesleyan, and Albion.

Schmidt tallied 36 kills on the weekend, averaging 3.27 kills per set through 11 sets of play. She also recorded over a 0.200 hitting efficiency for the entire weekend with her best performance being a 0.286 efficiency in the team's match against Albion.

Schmidt recorded a season-high 17 kills in the team's match against Albion. She recorded nine and 10 kills against No. 9 Millikin and Ill. Wesleyan, respectively. On top of her performance offensively, Schmidt tacked on five digs and two blocks for the weekend. Behind the service line, Schmidt helped the team by adding two aces to the board.

Schmidt has earned all-tournament status once before last season at the Wis.-La Crosse Tournament.

The Storm will return to play this weekend against Coe and Wartburg on their home court.
