Simpson tops Dubuque, Loras

INDIANOLA - The Simpson women's tennis team picked up a pair of conference wins Saturday at Buxton Memorial Tennis Complex, defeating Dubuque and Loras.

The Storm (3-3, 3-3 IIAC) began the day by shutting out Dubuque 9-0 before knocking off Loras 6-3 in the night cap.

Simpson dropped only one set against the Spartans.

Against the Duhawks, the Storm dropped three-set matches at No. 1 and No. 2 singles but swept the remaining contests. Mikayla Struebing (Indianola, Iowa), Allison Anderson (Eldridge, Iowa), Lindsay Nash (Keokuk, Iowa) and Lynae Gruber (Shenandoah, Iowa) won in straight sets at No. 3-6 singles. At No. 2 doubles, the team of Struebing and Anderson picked up an 8-4 win against Sarah Dickhut and Rachel Weglarz. Nash and Gruber closed out doubles competition with a 9-7 win against Sarah Alt and Caitlin Dolan.
