Men’s cross country climbs two spots in regional rankings
NEW ORLEANS -- The Simpson College men's cross country team climbed two spots in this week's U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Midwest Region Rankings to now rank No. 6, the highest regional ranking in program history.
The Storm are coming off a fourth-place finish at the Jim Drews/Tori Neubauer Invitational last weekend. Simpson tallied 113 points to place ahead of Central and Luther which were both ranked higher than the Storm.
Simpson is joined by four other American Rivers Conference teams in the regional rankings. Wartburg retained its position at the No. 1 spot, Loras moved up one place to No. 4, and Central and Luther fell to No. 7 and No. 8, respectively.
The team will return to action on Oct. 30 at the A-R-C Championships in Decorah, Iowa.
