Men's Tennis sweeps the doubleheader to earn first victories of 2025
INDIANOLA, Iowa - The Simpson men's tennis team claimed wins over Maharishi University and Monmouth on Sunday for their first wins of the 2025 season.
Starting with Maharishi, the Storm (2-1) earned the doubles point as Grant Love and Hudson Christie combined to win 6-2 in their match. Isaiah Franzen claimed a victory as an individual, winning his match 6-4, 6-2 as Simpson also earned three forfeit victories to earn the 5-2 win.
In the back half of the doubleheader, Simpson cleanly swept Monmouth 7-0 to earn its second win of the day. Love and Christie combined once again for a doubles win, along with Henry Godar and Darek Kayser to secure the doubles point for the Storm. In individual play, Simpson took all six matches with Christie, Godar, and Reid Jackson earning their wins on two sets each.
