Simpson runners compete at Drake Relays

DES MOINES - Four Simpson relay teams competed in the college division of the Drake Relays this weekend.

The women's 4x400-meter relay team of Lauren Anderson (Oakland, Iowa), Molly Sabers (Iowa City, Iowa), April Sigmund (Jewell, Iowa) and Nicole Mulder (Boyden, Iowa) placed 19th, running a 3:59.93.

The women's 4x100-meter relay team of Anderson, Sabers, Mulder and Jordan Maher (Baxter, Iowa) placed seventh in its heat, running a 50.63.

The men's 4x100-meter relay of Brad Vogel (Donnellson, Iowa), John Cord (Atlantic, Iowa), Jarrod Schott (Pocahontas, Iowa) and Brandon Christensen (Clive, Iowa) placed seventh in its heat, running a 45.00.

The 1600-meter medley relay team of Vogel, Cord, Christensen and Matt Stone (Boone, Iowa) placed sixth in its heat, running a 3:34.97.
