Simpson handles Grand View

DES MOINES, Iowa – The Simpson women's tennis team earned its first win of the Spring season on Wednesday, beating Grand View 7-2.

The Storm improved to 9-8 with the win.

Simpson started things off right by sweeping the doubles competition. The team of Tiffany Bost and Allison Anderson won 8-0 at No. 1 doubles, Lindsay Nash and Lauren Schemmel won 8-3 at No.2 and Whitney Thompson and Dara Sam won 8-4 at No. 3.

Simpson won No. 1-4 singles to clinch the win. Bost beat Becca Ruther 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 and Anderson added a 6-3, 7-5 win over Marissa Ruttenbeck at No. 2. Nash handled Katie Victor 6-0, 6-2 at No. 3 and Thompason beat Lauren Lightner 6-1, 6-1 at No. 4.
