Storm beat Monmouth, lose to Luther

INDIANOLA, Iowa - The Simpson women's tennis team was involved in a pair of 9-0 matches on Saturday, beating Monmouth and losing to Luther.

The Storm (7-5, 3-4 Iowa Conference) rolled against an undermanned Monmouth squad, not dropping a set in the contest.

Lindsay Nash beat Kristen Huffman at No. 1 singles (6-1, 6-0), Lyne Gruber got past Tessa Ginn at No. 2 (6-2, 6-0), Taylor Hamilton topped Amanda Buck at No. 3 (6-3, 6-2) and Rami Vokt rolled over Kortney Rupp at No. 4 (6-1, 6-4).

Simpson won by defualt at Nos. 5 and 6.

In doubles, the team of Allison Anderson and Tiffany Bost beat Huffman and Ginn, 8-1, and Gruber and Mikayla Struebing beat buck and Rupp 8-0.

Simpson closes the regular season against Wartburg on Sunday.
