Simpson disposes of Buena Vista in three sets

STORM LAKE - Megan Dunlavy tied a game-high with 10 kills, Simpson held Buena Vista to a -.029 attack percentage and the Storm won, 3-0 (25-22, 25-18, 25-13) Wednesday night.

The Storm (6-7, 1-2 IIAC) picked up their first Iowa Conference win of the season, snapping a three-match losing streak in the process. Dunlavy's (Bettendorf) 10 kills helped Simpson to a .145 hitting percentage on the night.

Blaiqe Allshouse (Lamoni) hit .278 with 10 kills, Lexie Hagerty (Tama) had 18 assists and libero Monica Driscoll (Williamsburg) scooped 12 digs. Dunlavy added a block solo, four block assists and three service aces. Simpson fired 10 aces as a team.

Katie Vondrak had 10 kills in the losing effort for the Beavers (5-7, 1-1 IIAC).

Simpson has the weekend off before hosting Luther next Wednesday in a 7:30 p.m. start.
